Superior Livestock- March 16th Video Auction
Superior Livestock Auction – March 16, 2023
Superior Livestock hosted their video auction live on March 16th from their studio in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Cattle producers offered over 42,000 head of calves, yearlings & breeding stock from 25 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through December 2023. Superior Livestock went live with the auction at 8 a.m. CT. The March 16th Video Auction was broadcast in HD on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction’s Click to Bid website.
Region 3/4/5/6 Feeder Steers 825 & down $4 to $6 higher, lighter weights under 675 suitable for grazing $8 to $12 higher. Feeder Heifers also saw a strong showing moving out at $4 to $6 higher on all weights. Region 1 & 2 Feeder Steers and Heifers were in light supply, but demand was strong on all classes. Beef Dairy Crosses also saw strong demand with prices $10 to $12 higher. Region 3/4/5/6 Weaned Calves were $15 to $20 higher. Heavier weights were fully steady that were on grow programs. Program feeders both steers and heifers were in short supply but fully steady compared to our last auction. Few sales on program heifers were $10 to $15 higher on heavier weights.

Superior Livestock Auction hosted their video auction live on March 2nd from the Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Cattle producers offered over 34,830 head of calves, yearlings & breeding stock from 25 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through November 2023. Superior Livestock went live with the auction at 8 a.m. CT. The March 2nd Video Auction was broadcast in HD on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction’s Click to Bid website. Despite a week that saw lots of spring volatility, Superior Livestock produced an upwardly trending market report across all regions.
Regions 3/4/5/6 Feeder Steers saw strong prices $5 to $7 higher on all weights with the strength mainly on heavier weights on both immediate and deferred deliveries; also noted the wheat pasture and grazing cattle were the strong point of the market. Regions 3/4/5/6 Feeder Heifers also saw strong demand $3 to $4 higher than our last auction with a strong demand for heifers that cound be retained for replacements at $10 to $12 higher. Regions 1 & 2 Feeder Steers & Heifers were well received at $5 to $6 higher. Beef Dairy Crosses also saw strong demand moving out $10 higher. Regions 1 & 2 Weaned Calves again advanced the market by $7 to $10 on both Steers & Heifers with grazing condition calves selling at $15 higher. Regions 3/4/5/6 calves saw an increase of $10 to $15 higher on calves lighter than 625 pds.

Superior Livestock Auction hosted their video auction live on February 2nd from the Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Cattle producers offered over 33,966 head of calves & yearlings from 25 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through October 2023. Superior Livestock went live with the auction at 8 a.m. CT. The February 2nd Video Auction was broadcast in HD on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction’s Click to Bid website. Thursday’s offering was met with much anticipation since the weather across the country slowed much of the trade down earlier in the week; optimism continues to grow especially in the commodity cattle. Regions 3/4/5/6 Feeder Steers were well received at fully steady prices with the most recent auction. Feeder Heifers saw a higher trend moving out at $3 to $7 dollars higher. Regions 1/2 Feeder Steers were in light test but also received at fully steady prices. Program Feeders found buyers being very selective and taking into account cost of gains. Beef Dairy Crosses were well received at fully steady prices compared to last test. Regions 1/2 Weaned Calves were in short supply and saw steady prices. Regions 3/4/5/6 Weaned Calves were again met with higher prices on weights under 625 pounds moving out at $6 to $12 higher. |

Superior Livestock went live with the auction at 8 a.m. CT. The February 16th Video Auction was broadcast in HD on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction’s Click to Bid website. Despite some uncooperative weather patterns, the market has remained very resilient and the demand for beef continues to be high leaving Superior Livestock with a bullish market report and an optimistic spring outlook. Regions 3/4/5/6 Feeder Steers & Heifers saw strong prices $5 to $7 higher with some moving out as much as $12 higher to a wide base of buyers. Regions 1 & 2 Feeder Steers & Heifers were steady. Regions 1 & 2 Weaned Calves saw solid advances on all weights. Beef Dairy Crosses also saw strong demand moving out $10 to $15 higher. Superior Livestock Auction hosted their Bellringer video auction live on January 18-20th from the Embassy Suites Northwest Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Cattle producers offered over 141,000 head of calves, yearlings and bred stock from 33 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through October 2023. Superior Livestock went live with the auction at 8 a.m. CT. The BellringerVideo Auction was broadcast in HD on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction’s Click to Bid website. Despite the market pressures last week the Bellringer Auction was met with an upwardly trending market report especially in the calf market. Regions 1 & 2 Feeder Steers were well received by a wide buyer base. Early delivery steers were under pressure at $4 to $8 lower while deferred deliveries saw a steady demand. Feeder Heifers form the same regions followed with at $5 to $8 lower on early deliveries and fully steady on deferred deliveries. Regions 3/4/5/6 Feeder Steers and Heifers were met with some market resistance seeing prices at $5 to $7 lower delivering within the next week. However deferred deliveries witnessed steady prices. Program Steers and Heifers also saw a very uneven market with buyers being very selective in all regions. Regions 1 & 2 Weaned Calves were in strong demand with Steer Calves bringing $6 to $10 higher than last test. Heifers followed with advances at $7 to $10 higher. Regions 3/4/5/6 Weaned Calves also followed the upward trend large supply of grazing condition calves were well received at $6 to $10 dollars higher. Lighter weight under 500 pds saw advances of $15 to $20 dollars higher than last test. |
